I am Phu H. Nguyen (or “Foo” as a simplified pronunciation), Senior Research Scientist at SINTEF, Norway, with a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Luxembourg. I develop tools and methodologies for software development and operation of intelligent and trustworthy systems across the IoT, edge, and cloud continuum, with a particular focus on sustainability.

My competence and research areas include AI-driven engineering, digital twin engineering, Internet of Things, edge computing, cloud native systems, microservices, data sovereignty, data spaces, DevOps, and security by design.

• Secretary (2024-now), Viet Professionals in Norway (VPN). I am a founding member of Viet Professionals in Norway (VPN), a network to share experiences for the professional development of our members, and increase collaboration to bring more added value to the community.

• Secretary General (2019-now), The Organization of Vietnamese Families in Oslo and the surrounding areas. I organise activities for the organisation of Vietnamese families in Oslo and nearby. We focus on projects for children and families, preserving, honoring, and promoting Vietnamese cultural values, integration with Norwegian society, and cooperation between Vietnam and Norway for sustainable development.

• Vice President of Education (2016-2018), Oslo Toastmasters: An active member of the Toastmasters International since 2013; have been the Vice President of Education (VPE) at the Oslo Toastmasters to help the members to develop their public speaking and leadership skills. During my two-year term, my contribution has enabled the Oslo Toastmasters to achieve the highest-ranking title of a Toastmasters club, based on the successful developments of members. VPE is the second ranking club officer and is responsible for planning, organizing and directing a club program which meets the educational needs of the individual members. The VPE schedules members’ speeches and projects and serves as a resource for questions about education awards, speech contests and the mentor program.

• Secretary (2018-2019), Oslo Toastmasters. I also served as the secretary for one year.
